Terms of service
Last updated
These terms cover use of WaitRoom, a Shopify app that runs waiting-room queues for product drops. Installing the app accepts them. They are between us and the merchant who installs it — not the merchant's own customers, whose relationship is with the store.
What the app does
WaitRoom places a queue in front of nominated products, releases shoppers to checkout in batches, and enforces a per-customer purchase limit through a Shopify checkout validation function. Enforcement depends on that function being switched on in the store's checkout settings — the app reports whether it is, but cannot switch it on for you.
Billing
All charges go through Shopify's Billing API and appear on the store's Shopify invoice. We never take card details.
| Plan | Price | Trial |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | — |
| Starter | $39/month | 14 days |
| Growth | $99/month | 14 days |
| Pro | $179/month | 14 days |
| Scale | $299/month | 14 days |
| Enterprise | $999/month | — |
- Annual billing is 10 months paid for 12 months of service.
- Cancelling mid-cycle is prorated — the unused portion is refunded.
- Downgrading never deletes anything. Drops already created keep running, and settings above the new plan's limits are kept but stop applying until you upgrade again.
- Going over a plan's queue allowance does not stop a drop. It runs in full, we tell you while it is happening, and we ask you to upgrade before the next one.
Availability
WaitRoom is provided as-is, without a contractual uptime guarantee. We run it on managed infrastructure with health checks and alerting, and the storefront is designed so that our failure degrades rather than blocks: if the app is unreachable, the waiting room does not appear and the store keeps selling.
The one exception worth stating plainly: a Shopify checkout validation function that fails can block checkout, depending on a setting in your checkout rule. We recommend leaving “allow all customers to submit checkout” ticked until you have run a drop end to end.
Your responsibilities
- Configure drops, limits and eligibility rules correctly for your own promotions.
- Comply with consumer and competition law where you trade — a queue is not a lottery, and raffle-style drops may be regulated in your market.
- Tell your customers what you collect. We give you the tools; the relationship is yours.
Data
Covered in full by the privacy policy. In short: you are the controller, we are the processor, and uninstalling stops all processing. Retention periods are enforced by an automated job rather than by policy alone.
Ending it
Uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin. That cancels the subscription, stops processing, and starts the retention clocks in the privacy policy. We may suspend an account that is being used to breach these terms or Shopify's, and will say why.
Changes
Material changes are dated at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change accepts it; if you would rather not, uninstalling cancels with a prorated refund.
